Calico Captive is a great book, one of my favorites. It is about a girl named Miriam who lived in the 1750s. One day, in her settlement, she heard a shrill of Indian calls. It was and Indian raid. They took her and her family on a frightening journey through the woods. She found herself an Indian captive, caught up in the French and Indian war. Now she would have to survive with the little food that was given to her, and all she could look forward to was a life of slavery. Could she get out of this? Could she survive this seemingly endless trail? As I said earlier love this book it took me on an adventure of ups and downs and I found myself reading this and unable to put it down. I did not think it would be that good, but it was wonderful. It also gives you a little twist of love. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
